2 Years, Month 3, Week 4

What better way to start the week than a play date with friends?  To kick it off, Isabella joined us for art class.  Olivia was quite proud of the flag she made!  We headed to McAlister's because you can always count on their kids menu to please!  At the end, Olivia and Isabella decided to do some exploring in McAlister's landscaping.  Those two always manage to find ways to entertainment themselves!

On Tuesday, Olivia experienced another "first", her first celebrity meet and greet!  Buddy Valastro, aka the Cake Boss, was in town to promote his new line of cakes for Kroger.  Livi did great while we waited in the line (which moved pretty quickly considering how many people flock to downtown when they hear that cakes are being given away!).  She had no idea who Buddy was (who by the way is VERY tan in person!), but she was excited that we got a cake to take home!

The summer reading program at the library also came to a close this week.  We managed to read over 2400 pages this summer.  Livi was very proud of herself and the prizes she won.  She was not as much a fan of the farm equipment and the town vehicles at the touch-a-truck portion of the event!  She did like the ice cream though!  It took a little more coaxing to get her to try face painting.  As a compromise, she and Daddy got matching hearts on their hands.  Aww....

Later in the week we had another fun date with Miss Nichole and Isabella.  This time we went to the Zoo.  It may not look like it in all the pictures, but we did have a lot of fun!  I swear sometimes it's darn near impossible to get Livi to smile when we ask.  I just hope Miss Jackie was able to get some good shots during Livi's 2 year photo shoot we did after the Zoo!

Grammy and Grampy came to town for a visit too.  They stayed at a nearby hotel so that Livi could go swimming.  She had a blast swimming with Daddy and Grampy.  She also got a kick out of taking her bath in their hotel tub. The next day, Grammy invented a new game where you race the ponies in the living room.  (Fun for Livi; not so fun for the adult who has to try and balance over the pony and chase her.).  While Livi napped that day, Grammy and I hit the mall to pick up some new clothes for Livi for preschool.  I can't believe it's starting so soon!

Never one to be bashful when it comes to food, we often hear "I want what you have" at meal times.  So, I'm not really sure why I was surprised when Livi wanted to try my salad at lunch.  She loved it and ate more of it than I did.  Yep, definitely Mommy's girl!
